Electronics major Asus seems set to launch a successor to its Chromebook Flip. The unannounced Chromebook appeared on Newegg website earlier this week, but was later pulled down. The Asus Chromebook again made its apearance on e-tailing website Best Buy and was again removed.

Likely to be called ASUS C302CA, the laptop will be launched at the upcoming CES tradeshow.

According to the BestBuy listing, the laptop carries a price tag of $499.99 (approximately Rs 34,000). At this price, the Flip 2 is costlier by about $250 (approximately Rs 17,000) than its predecessor, which was priced at $249.

As seen in the listing, the rear camera design looks identical to that of the iPhone 7 Plus. But unlike the iPhone 7, the alleged Zenfone 3 Zoom will have autofocus sensor and LED flash placed right below the camera module.


As far as its specifications are concerned, the Flip 2 sports metal casing and weighs around 2.65 pounds (about 1.2kg). It has a 12.5inch 1080p touchscreen display which flips/rotates by 360 degrees. the laptop runs on Intel Pentium 4405Y processor and packs 32GB internal storage, expandable via micro-SD card. A backlit keyboard and two USB type-C ports are also there.


As per the listing, Chromebook Flip 2 will have an 8GB RAM vis-a-vis a 4GB RAM onboard its predecessor Flip.
