New Moto X (2017) smartphone's alleged design tipped in a video
NEW DELHI: Lenovo-owned Motorola's Moto X 2017 edition may still be far, but the smartphone's already become a part of tech grapevine. A new leaked video showing the purported handset, tipped as the Moto X (2017) has surfaced online. The video has the alleged renders of the smartphone, in which its design appears to be similar to the current-generation Moto X handsets.
The video and accompanying images, exclusively leaked on Android Authority website by noted tipster @OnLeaks, reveal a lot more than just the design and display of the handset.
As per the images leaked on the website, the rear panel of the smartphone has a slightly curved look. This means that the Moto X (2017) may not be compatible with the Moto Mods. Also, the moto branding at the rear (as in the case of the Z series) has been replaced by just the Motorola logo.
Along with this, the render video highlights two important features - a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port.
Below the display, there is a 'pill-shaped' Home button with an embedded fingerprint scanner. The microSD card slot appears to have been shifted to the top edge of the device.
Chamfered edges are visible in the video as well. But as per the website, there's apparently no 2.5D glass.
As for the camera, the large bump which characterizes Motorola's latest set of smartphones in the Z series is still visible but appears to be a little larger. It can be inferred that the smartphone will have a large-capacity battery. In comparison, Moto Z and Moto Z Force have a thickness of about 5.2mm and 7mm respectively.
The upcoming smartphone may have a smaller 5.2-inch display as well.
