Samsung has been testing the Android 7.0 Nougat beta build on its Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones. The tech giant has now revealed the time it plans to roll the final version of the OS out onto its flagship phones.

In the latest beta notice, Samsung mentioned that the "Galaxy Beta programme will end on 12/30 (today) by 24:00". It added that, "We would do our best to distribute the official version in January as soon as possible."

The electronics major maintained that it would apply most of the useful opinions shared, by users who were part of the beta programme, in the final version.
South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung has introduced a Pink Colour variant of Samsung Galaxy S7 edge in India. Priced at Rs 50,900, the smartphone is available on the company's the official website.

A few days back there were reports that Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge may directly jump to Android 7.1.1 Nougat and skip the 7.0 build. However, a Vodafone Australia representative later revealed that only some Galaxy S7 devices will directly get the latest version, while the others would receive the 7.0. The rollout of different OS versions is said to vary according to geographic regions.

"I've checked in with the right people for you @chri5tin3 and @shauno100, and they've confirmed the references to Samsung skipping 7.0 refer to other markets and not to Australia. We're definitely testing 7.0 for both devices," said the representative on a Vodafone forum.

It can therefore be inferred that in Australia, both Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will get the Android v7.0 Nougat and won't directly skip to v7.1.1. This may upset some users in Australia as v7.0 doesn't have a few bug fixes that come with v7.1.1. Samsung is yet to comment on the issue.
